India Vs Australia 2st Qarter Final...!
Once again.....once again.....!
Team India done the thing. Stopped Aussies before they reach to the fourth consecutive TITLE of a world cup (international in 50-50 category).
What a match! What a match! I am not finding words...! What to write...! Repeating words... like what Himesh does in his songs...! No clue how to get a start. I also will become HIT like Himesh...! People like him....will start liking me too after reading my lines..!
After watching yesterday's performance of Indian Top order batsmen, one can easily get confused, why do Indian Cricket Team not perform consistently well in One Day Internationals with so many talented players? Fact is that, we the Indians too find no reason, why does it happen..!
Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, and then Suresh Raina, four clicked out of seven. And an easy win for the team. So simple equation. All the four batsmen played as per required runrate or more correctly "strike rate" through out the innings and they could make to the total very comfortably. In fact perfectly. With no hurry or no delay at any stage of the innings. This is how you should bat when you bat second. This is how you should bat when you bat under lights. What a batting plan and what an implementation...!
There were fumbles in the running between the wickets initially. But Yuvraj's perfect batting exhibition curtained all. He batted Superbly under tremendous pressure and we could see a memorable knock from him on very important occasion. He might have gained some batting tips from the little master for this perticular match against Australia for sure. He was doing everything right. He was hitting the balls when the situation was asking him to hit. He was taking singles and doubles too. Sachin and Gautam Gabhir had given the required batting momentum and then Yuvraj had never been seen breaking that momentum. In fact the pressure which could easily have gattered around the rest of the five players just after Dhoni's dismissal was totally distructed by him and Suresh Raina who also did a fantastic job and provided an excellent support by hitting the ball too nicely.
Australian bowlers were not understanding what was happening to them when Yuvraj and Raina was hitting the ball a if they were batting against a newly arrived International team. It was not a bad show from the Australian bowlers but a very very good show from Indian Batsmen. Sachin missed his 100th International tonne when he got out. But no matter who does the trick for your team's win. It was a show of four wonderful players. Not just Sachin.
Ricky Ponting's face was saying everything. They do not like loosing games and their faces speak a lot after their defeat in any big game. And yesterday was big big occassion. Not that big for the Indian Team as it was for the Aussie Team.
That was the big one. 1st biggest is to come when team India will face Pakistan in their semi final. Lot more to say on this....but in the next blog..!

Quarter Final India Vs Australia

Wow..! What a win! Fantastic....!
A very much needed "convincing one sided victory" for team India against West Indies on Sunday will certainly boost the moral for the Quarter Final which will perhaps be the toughest competition of the tournament. India Vs. Australia. Worrying factor for the Aussies will be bowling to "in form" Yuvraj Singh and Sachin Tendulkar. Allmost all the batsmen in the batting line of Indian Team are known to be matchwinners. Rest of the four players who are bolwers, are not performing at even average in the bowling department. Fortunately on Sunday they could atleast reastrict West Indian batsmen and now we hope that same thing will happen in the next match which is "Do or Die".
Team India will have to bowl too well to a truly quality batting side containing talent in the form of Shane Watson, Ricky Ponting, Brad Haddin and many more. Cricket fans will get chances to watch treats fight on field. "Sachin Tendulkar Vs. Brett Lee", "Watson Vs. Gambhir" and many such. Yesterday I could watch Mohammad Azaruddin putting his views on the performance of Team India on a famous Indian News Channel. It was more interesting to see Kapil Dev and him sitting togeather expressing their thaughts on cricket. I was a big big fan of former Indian Skipper Mohmmad Azaharuddin who used to bat with tremendous ease and picking chicky singles guiding the bowl in the gaps inside the thirty yard circle. He was not a fast runner between the wickets but he used to take singles as comfortably as a batsman like Dhoni. You can find similar talent in Virender Sehwag who also takes singles nicely against fast as well as spin bowlers.
Yusuf Pathan has to fire yet in the tournament and I have a strong feeling that he may have a good time in the quarter final. So beware Aussie Bowlers...! Pathan can be dangerous for him on Mottera Stadium. Suresh Raina may not play in this match as Sehwag will be back after taking a rest. He did not play against WI. No time to experiment now for Dhoni and he has to lead the team in an exceptional manner against Ponting's brilliant Army. They will come like a wounded Tiger after loosing their league match against Pakistan. Before that they had not been defeted for 34 wordcup matches since 1999. Isn't this Aewsom? It shows that, Ricky Ponting has led his team better than Steave Wagh.
But most of the eyes will be on SACHIN RAMESH TENDULKAR once again. Still there is no exception to this. What a player he has been for Indian Cricket team. Beyond that I would say, "what a player he has been for world cricket. A true legend. Still same hunger for hitting centuries after centuries. If he gets out in the 80s or 90s or on the score anything above 50, we Indians consider it as his failure on that day. This is where his greatness lays
Team India's Bowling quality should be atleast above average and batting should be as per standards of players. This is what Indians should be expecting from their team in the quarter final. Else there would be another comeback for them for sure. Because the opposition is too talented and team India should play making very specific plans against each class player of Team Australia. Harbhajan Singh should spend as much time as possible in the nets knowing what is going wrong with him in this series. He has a ample of time to give himself and analyse all the minute errors and correcting those. More than 50 hours to go for the match and hope to see him bowling with lot more confidence than he shown in the league matches.

Upsets
So far
We have seen many upsets in the league matches. But the match between Ireland and England was the biggest. What a performance by Kavin O Brien in that match. He played like he is an establised ODI batsman. I had not seen many matches played between Ireland and other test teams. But at the moment I can say they can get lience to play International Test Match very soon. They are a very improved team for sure. Their fielding quality is too good unlike some recognized teams from India or Pakistan. Then England facer another upset, this time against Bangladesh. Team Bangladesh is an effective team on their soil and they can beat even Australia there. Bangladesh have recentely registered a facinating 4-0 win against Newzeland in a five match home series. This perticular performance can easily force one to dare say they can beat Australia atleast 2 times if ask to play a ten match series against them on their soil.

On India Vs. RSA World Cup League Match
It happens. We should not critisize our players to an extream level. We still have chance to stay up in the group if register a (not so crucial) win against WI in out last league game. There is not point in shouting at our players in the mid stage of tournament. We have a good team. THEY CAN WIN WORLD CUP.
At one stage we were 267/1 and suddenly the collaps started while we were batting. We lost all the reamaining wickets putting only 29 more runs. This is cricket. At one stage were cruizing towards 370 marks. But suddenly the game changed after Sachin Tendulkar's dissimissal. This is not the first time any team loosing batting momentum in only twenty minutes of game. It happened on so many occasions in the past. Batsmen were playing without pressure but they were loosing their wickets. Just a matter of good time and bad time. In fact our bowlers done well this time on the FLAT picth. SA batsmen were really strggling to get to the total. I was expecting them to reach the target in 45 or 46 overs. Believe me. There was nothing in the picth for the fast as well as spin bowlers. In the over in which Zaheer Khan gave 17 runs was the turning point in my view. Zahir is not a good bolwer in pressure situation. Worst if a catch comes to him. He gets nervous.
Giving Ashish Nehra the last over was the point of discussion yesterday on many channels after the game. There was no option for DHONI too. Munaf was not bowling well. Pravin Kumar would have been a perfect bowler but he was not playing the game. Harbhajan was a spinner. Nehra was the ONLY choice.
What a remarkable century by Sachin Tendulkar once again. We are so lucky people to have such wonderful batting legend in our generation and we are watching him live. Thanks to him. From the bottom of Heart.
I think Dhoni should keep faith in what he is doing. He is changing his mind in every game. Especially in the batting order. I dont know what is he doing with Yusuf Pathan. And Yusuf too is not playing well is the other thing. The most important batting number is number 3. Gambhir is coming on that number. He is playing well. If we loose third wicket at 35 over, Yuvraj Singh should come to bat. If we loose 4th wicket near 40th over, yusuf Pathan should come to bat. If we loose three wickets quickly, before say 25 overs, then only Dhoni should come. What I want to say allow batsmen like Yusuf Pathan and Yuvraj Singh to spend time on the crize for atleast three overs. Dhoni should not come to bat anywhere near slogg overs. After Sachin Tendulkar, Veerat Kohli is our most important ODI batsman. Dhoni and concerned people should fix his batting number as quickly as possible. Kohli is the most promising new batsman in our team and should get justice from the seniour team meates. More from Dhoni. And the thing which we are expecting from Yusuf Pathan to do, can be get by us only if he comes to open the innings with Sachin Tendulkar or Virender Shewag. I think second option is better. But then Sachin's batting may get affected. Veeru can come to bat at any position. He is the real gentleman in our team. Very humble. Can do anything for team and for cricket. He knows his limitations. Confesses all the time. He is clear minded and so do his batting. He can easily adjust himself at any number right from 1 to 11. He wont complain. Send him at three. Follwed by Virat Kohli, Gambhir, Yuvraj, Dhoni and the rest. Harbhajan Singh should be promoted frequenly to bat.
